Soil Systems ABC-Forage is a development of Soil Systems original ABC. It is used as a silage inoculant and results in a better quality of feed. Basic benefits are:
| | Forage treated with Soil Systems ABC-Forage will reach a low pH much faster than with other inoculants. Studies have shown that after 7 days your silage could be up to one whole pH unit lower when inoculated with ABC-Forage. This means that spoilage organisms and pathogenic bacteria have less time to establish and the healthy populations of ABC-Forage microbes will be able to effectively exclude these unwanted species. | |
However, the benefits of ABC-Forage do not stop there. The microbes in ABC-Forage will actively help to improve the digestive health of your herd. ABC-Forage microbes can competetively exclude pathogenic bacteria from the gut of cattle, and can also reduce pathogenic bacteria in their muck. Levels of mastitis can be reduced, and you will notice that the muck in the yard and in the heap will smell less.
